The unit for the Power Distribution Center (PDC) includes the engine compartment wire harness and if the inside circuits or housing of the PDC are damaged, the whole PDC and engine compartment wire harness unit needs to be replaced. First, disconnect the negative
Battery Cable and afterwards take out the Air Inlet System along with the housing and resonator. Unplug every wire harness connector from the engine compartment, making sure to follow the wiring information for each diagram, proper repair procedures for wires and connectors, how to route the wires, pin-out details and where each connector, splice or ground should be placed. Remove the fasteners linking each wire harness ground eyelet in the engine compartment to the vehicle body and chassis components and then disengage the retainers securing each wire harness to the body and chassis. Uninstall the three screws that keep the PDC to its bracket, then take off the PDC and the wire harness as one piece. Put the PDC over the PDC mounting bracket, artween the Powertrain and Transmission Control Modules, center the PDC on the bracket and secure it with the three mounting screws. Install the engine compartment wire harness beginning at the PDC, fasten each harness to the provided mountings points on the vehicle's body and chassis, route the end of each harness along the manifold and secure each ground eyelet with a fastener to the vehicle's body and chassis. After that, align all engine compartment wire harness connectors and then plug in the negative battery cable. When installing a new power distribution center, take out each of the
Fuses, fuse cartridges, fusible links and relays from the old one and put them into the proper parts of the new distribution center.
