2001 Dodge Grand Caravan Oxygen Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace the Upstream 1/1 Oxygen Sensor on 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan?
A: Start by detaching the battery and trading and then free the speed control vacuum harness and the connector coming from the servo. Then, get rid of the speed control servo and bracket from the model and back them out of the way. Make use of a Snap-On YA8875 or its equivalent tool for removing the sensor. Make sure to clean the threads with an 18 mm X 1.5 + 6E tap and when reusing the first sensor, cover them with Loctite 771-64 anti-seize compound or its equivalent. When installing the manifold, use a similar tap to clean the threads and if using the original sensor, don't forget to use anti-seize compound; all new sensors come ready to install. Fix the sensor and turn the torque wrench to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.), afterward hook up the electrical connector to the O2 sensor and secure it to the bracket. Press the electrical connector into its socket for the speed control servo, reinstall the speed control servo and bracket, attach the speed control vacuum line and finally put the battery tray and battery back in.
