2001 Dodge Neon Fuel Injector Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace a Fuel Injector on 2001 Dodge Neon?
A: Before changing the fuel injector, take off the negative cable from the battery and remove the fuel rail cover next. Pressure release the fuel system and cut off the fuel supply tube from the fuel rail. Unplug the end of the electrical wire from the fuel injector and loosen the fuel rail mounting screws. Remove the rail from the intake manifold and ensure it's placed so that the fuel injector holes are covered. Get the retainer off the injector and take the injector out of the fuel rail. Then replace the fuel injector O-rings. After applying light clean oil to the upper O-ring and setting the injector in the cup on the fuel rail, put on the retaining clip. Coat the O-ring of the injector with a bit of oil, insert them into the openings on the intake manifold and push the injectors to sit firmly in their proper places. Screw the fuel rail mounting clamps tight enough to 22.5 Nm, attach the electrical connections to the fuel injectors, bring the fuel supply tube over the fuel rail and fit the fuel rail cover.
