First, disconnect the negative battery cable and release all the pressure inside the fuel system to service or repair the fuel injector. Unhook the gas hose from the rail and also remove the electricity connectors from the fuel injectors. With the screws out, remove the rail from the
Intake Manifold and use it to cover the fuel injector openings. After that, take out the fuel injector retainer and remove the injector from the
Fuel Rail, while making sure to change the O-rings. First, lightly smear clean engine oil on the upper O-ring and fix the injector in the cup of the fuel rail. Then, put the retaining clip into place. Brush a bit of clean engine oil over the O-rings at the nozzle ends, place the fuel injectors into their openings and finish by seating them properly in the intake manifold. Secure the fuel rail to the engine with mounting screws at 22.5 Nm ± 3 or 30 in. lbs. force, attach all the needed connectors to the fuel injectors and insert the fuel supply tube into the fuel rail.
