2001 Dodge Neon Seat Cover Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Front Seat Cover for Seat Back on 2001 Dodge Neon?
A: For front seat back cover service, you should first detach the seat from the vehicle and take off the head restraint. Following that, lift out the back of the front seat and release the J-strap from its holder. Roll the top of the fabric toward the head to find the hog rings and then cut the threads to take the cover off. Then, after securing the seat head, roll the cover to the seat back top, pull out the head restraint sleeve guides and remove the cover from the seat back. The new cover goes on top of the seat back and then it should be rolled down to where the hog rings will go. Only then should the hog rings be installed. Slide the cover downwards, attach the J-strap and then insert new head restraint sleeve guides. Reconnect the back of the seat to the cushion, tightening the bolts to 40 N.m (30 ft.lbs.) and afterwards repeat the step for the seat and head restraint in the vehicle. Lastly, test how the seat back and headrest function.
