How to Maintain a Harmonic Balancer and Crankshaft Pulley on 2001 Dodge Ram 1500?

Before you start, you should disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Make sure you begin with the fans followed by the fan drives and, finally, the accessory belt. Remove the vibration damper's pulley, then remove the bolt and the washer from the other end of the crankshaft. Put the bar and screw of Puller Tool Set C-3688 into the vibration damper, inserting the bolts with washers through the puller tool. At install time, attach the vibration damper to the crankshaft and tighten it firm using the tool from Puller Tool Set C-3688. Now take the washer and install the crankshaft bolt, tightening both to 244 Nm (180 ft. lbs.) and finally fit the crankshaft pulley and tighten its bolts to 23 Nm (200 in. lbs. ) torque. After that, fit the serpentine belt, fan for the cooling system and fan shroud and plug the negative cable back into the battery.
