Before servicing the front door hinge, remove the cowl trim panel and if the parking brake pedal needs removal, remove that too. After that, take out the hidden bolt anchor that is attached to the door hinge, then use a lifting device to support the door. Draw the door hinge's outline on the hinge pillar using a grease pencil to help with fitting. Take out the bolts holding the door hinge to the car and to the hinge pillar by the door, so that the hinge can be removed from the car. Should an installation be necessary, paint the door hinge before setting it into the door end frame and check the alignment using the marks. Fasten the nuts and bolts on the door hinge that are fitted to the door end frame and the hinge pillar, both tightened to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.). Afterward, set the hidden bolt that holds the door hinge in place on the hinge pillar, take the support out, return the parking brake pedal assembly and set the cowl trim panel in residence.
