  • Q: How to service and repair the ABS Control Module on 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 Van?
    A: Before servicing the Controller Antilock Brake, remove the battery first and unhook the cables attaching the battery. After that, disconnect the power panel and set it aside, as well as remove its securing mount and next unscrew the washer reservoir holding screws. Hold the reservoir and lift it to separate the pump motor plug and the pump hose and finally remove the reservoir from the engine compartment. Undo the connectors from the CAB by opening the harness holders and remove them. Following this, disconnect the pump motor connector. Get rid of the screws securing the CAB to the HCU and lift the CAB out. For installation, place the CAB onto the HCU so that the seal on the CAB is lined up properly. Attach the mounting screws and tighten them to 4.4 Nm (39 in. lbs.) and afterward, plug in the pump motor harness and lock the connectors to the CAB. Next, insert the reservoir back into the engine compartment, hook the pump motor connector to the pump hose and attach the washer reservoir screws. Then, fit the battery, install the mount for the battery and power distribution center, attach the power distribution center and link all batteries and cables. When you get a new CAB, program in the rear axle type and the number of tire revolutions per mile.
