2001 Dodge Stratus Alternator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Effectively Service and Repair an Alternator on 2001 Dodge Stratus?
A: Open the hood of the vehicle and remove the negative battery cable from the battery terminals to start the alternator servicing and repair. Elevate and hold the car in place, then get rid of the accessory drive belt splash shield. Loose the accessory drive belt and take out the lower mounting bolt before you lower the vehicle. After that, remove the battery cable and field connection, unplug the electrical connection to the A/C pressure switch and A/C clutch and pull out the engine oil dip stick. Unbolt both of the top bolts and lift out the generator. When you are ready to install, position the generator and put on the upper bolts so you don't tighten them yet. Instal the engine dip stick tube, hook up the A/C pressure switch and A/C clutch electrical connectors and connect the battery cable and field connectors. Lift the vehicle once more to put in the lower bolt, tighten it, attach the accessory drive belt and splash shield and lower it after each step. After that, tighten the two upper bolts and attach the negative battery cable.
