The first step for this service is to hold the throttle lever in the wide open position from the engine bay. Pull out the throttle cable from the throttle body cam. Within the vehicle, push on the pedal and unclip the retainer and throttle cable from the top of the pedal shaft. After that, open the retainer clip at the dash and release the throttle cable and cover there. After pulling the throttle cable out of the dash panel grommet, be sure the grommet stays put. Press both retaining ears on the throttle cable friction-fit kit down while pulling the throttle cable in order to disconnect it. First, try to push the housing end fitting into the grommet in the dash panel from across the engine; then, also push the cable housing into the cable mount bracket on the engine. After you are inside the vehicle, push up on the pedal and fit the throttle cable and cable retainer onto the lever at its top. At the dash panel, put the cable retainer clip between the end of the throttle cable fitting and grommet. Then, in the engine area, open the throttle lever completely and run the throttle cable down to the control panel.
