Q: How to Maintain the Rear Outboard Seat Belt on 2001 Dodge Stratus?
A: Open the rear seat backrest, raise the cushion and after that unfasten the bolt that attaches the anchoring part of the seat belt system to the floor pan to complete service. After that, remove the upper and lower quarter trim panel and then unplug the rear D-ring bolt from the upper quarter panel. Afterward, get rid of the bolt that links the rear seat belt retractor to the inside quarter panel and pull out the belt and retractor from the vehicle. Make sure to position the retractor and belt, attach the rear seat belt retractor to the inner quarter panel with a bolt and torque it to 40 Nm (29.5 ft. lbs.). Move the seat belt webbing and D-ring through the top trim and install the bolt linking the D-ring to the side of the car. Snug it and tighten it to 40 Nm (29.5 ft. lbs.). First, fit the upper quarter trim panel back, then fasten the seat belt anchor to the floor pan with a 40 Nm (29.5 ft. lbs.) bolt and then lay down the rear seat cushion.
