- Q: How to Locate, Install, and Remove a Canister Purge Valve on 2001 Jeep Cherokee?A: The Canister Purge Valve is fixed to a bracket in the right rear of the engine compartment, with the word "TOP" or "UP" printed on top, letting you know how to install it correctly for good working. Before taking out the valve, detach the electrical wire connector and the vacuum harness at the valve. After that, remove the valve with its support bracket. First, install the EVAP canister purge valve against the cowl panel with its bracket and secure it with 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.). Reattach the harness and connect the wiring connector afterward.
