How to Maintain a Catalytic Converter on 2001 Jeep Cherokee?

In order to service the catalytic converter, the vehicle must be raised and the oxygen sensor removed. In this method, apply Mopar Rust Penetrant on the bolts and disconnect the catalytic converter. Install a new gasket and the converter, using nuts. Tighten up all connections, reinstall the oxygen sensor and check for leaks after lowering the vehicle.
