How Is the Canister Purge Valve Installed and Removed in the Engine Compartment on Jeep Cherokee?

You will find the Canister Purge Valve mounted on a bracket at the right rear in the engine compartment and the top of the valve should bear the letter UP or TOP for correct installation. Disconnect the electrical wiring and the vacuum harness at the valve, remove the valve from its bracket and then take out the valve. For assembling the EVAP canister purge valve, attaching it to the EVAP canister purge valve bracket to the cowl panel, tighten the bolt to a torque of 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.) and then connect back the vacuum harness and wiring connector.
