  A: The steering wheel switch which is wired to the clock spring below the air bag, needs to be handled carefully during any repair or replacement. First, open the air cleaner, unhook the inlet air temperature sensor and makeup air hose and next take off the negative battery cable. First, turn the ignition off and then move to loosen the top mounting screw. Place the speed control switch in the 6 o'clock position, remove both screws from its back, detach the electrical connector and then remove the switch. While installing, plug the electrical connector in, add the switch with the rubber seal and tighten screws to 1.6 Nm (15 ins. lbs.). After that, insert the air bag into the slot, link up the negative cable and place the lid over the air cleaner.
