  A: Before servicing the fuel tank filler tube, take off the air cleaner lid and makeup air hose and then remove the negative battery cable. Separate the lid for the fuel filler tube and detach the fuel filler neck screws. Jack up the vehicle and support it and afterward remove the right rear wheel. After that, remove the back section of the inner splash shield. If there's more than half a tank, get the fuel out. Pull off the fuel filler tube hose that's attached to the fuel tank neck and take out the fuel filler tube assembly. For installation, insert the fuel filler tube first and attach the fuel filler tube hose to the fuel tank neck, using a clamp tightened to 4.1 N.m (38 ins. lbs.). Put the rear half of the inner splash shield back, lower the car and tighten the fuel filler neck screws to 2.7 N.m (24 ins. lbs.). Put back the fuel filler tube cap, link the negative battery cable and add the air cleaner lid and makeup air hose.
