2002 Chrysler Sebring Exhaust Manifold Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain an Exhaust Manifold on 2002 Chrysler Sebring?
A: Before servicing the front exhaust manifold, detach the negative battery terminal and remove the oxygen sensor. Place the vehicle on a hoist and take off the exhaust cross-under pipe and the front catalytic converter afterward. Lower the car once more and take out the exhaust manifold by unfastening its bolts. Look for any damage or cracks on the exhaust manifolds, make certain they are flat and investigate the exhaust manifold gasket for discoloration or shaping issues. Also, use a straightedge and thickness gauge to examine the flatness of the cylinder head mounting surface. To install, start by placing the exhaust manifold and gasket. Begin tightening from the center, moving outside, until you reach a torque of 23 Nm (200 in. lbs.). Once the car is raised again, add the front catalytic converter and manifold heat shield and tighten everything with 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.) of torque. After that, place the exhaust cross-under pipe and tighten the fasteners to 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.). First, put the car down, attach the oxygen sensor, connect the electrical connector and later reconnect the negative battery cable.
