2002 Chrysler Voyager A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an A/C Hose on 2002 Chrysler Voyager?
A: First, recover the refrigerant and disconnect the negative battery lead when working on installing and repairing the HVAC hose/line. Uncover the top lid and snorkel on the air cleaner of the right engine bay and remove the drain tube from its connection to the wiper module drain. Take off the nut, take part the fitting from the compression suction port and throw away its seal. Plug the opening in the suction line fitting and in the compressor suction port. Separate the clip that connects the suction line routing clip to the filter-drier mounting bracket, remove the nut clamping the suction line and liquid line fittings to the expansion valve and pull out both connections. If the vehicle has a rear air conditioner, lift and support the vehicle, remove the tie strap nearby the underbody line connections, take off the suction line extension fitting from the underbody suction line fitting and throw away the seal. Fix a lump of play dough or cover the opened fittings, drop the car and pull out the suction line from the engine compartment. To install, put the suction line in the engine compartment, take away the tape or plugs, oil the new rubber O-ring seals with clean oil and set them over the fittings and expansion valve. Attach the expansion valve back to both the liquid line and suction line fittings, secure the nuts with 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.) and clip the retainer to secure the suction line routing. Take the tape or plug from the compressor suction and fitting, put a new O-ring seal onto it and secure the fitting to the compressor after tightening the nut to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). Attach the drain tube again, place the air cleaner top cover and snorkel back and attach the negative terminal of the battery to its post. If your vehicle has a back air conditioner, pad and boost the vehicle, remove the tape or connectors from the strong tube and the bottom line suction fitting, lubricate a fresh O-ring seal and affix the joints again, ensuring they are fastened to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs). Sink a fresh tie strap at the underbody plumbing components, lift the vehicle, clear the refrigerant system and fill up the refrigerant again.
