2002 Chrysler Voyager Oxygen Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix Upstream and Downstream Oxygen Sensors on 2002 Chrysler Voyager?
A: The first step is to take off the negative battery cable and lift the car up, so you can reach the upstream oxygen sensor (1/1). Take out the electrical connector and place a Snap-On YA8875 or similar socket onto the sensor to remove it. With an 18 mm X 1.5 + 6E tap, remove any old sealing compound and, if you are using the original sensor, add Loctite 771-64 anti-seize compound or the same kind. To install the sensor, start by cleaning the thread of the exhaust manifold, put anti-seize on the sensor threads when needed and tighten it to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). After you've reconnected the electrical connector and secured it to the bracket, bring the vehicle down and put the negative cable back in place. Located on the side of the catalytic converter, add the new downstream oxygen sensor 2/1 which has factory-coated threads. Tighten it to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) without using any more anti-seize compound. Once you've connected the electrical connector, bring the vehicle down and connect the negative battery cable.
