  A: Always begin by detaching and isolating the battery negative cable for safe door lock switch service. Get rid of the outside door latch hardware and linkage from the inside of the door. Pull the door handle to the outside to get access to the door lock switch and then unplug the switch from behind the lock cylinder. Remove the door lock switch by taking out the connection from the door wire harness, then unhook the retaining clips that hold the pigtail wire harness to the inner side of the door. Put the door lock switch into the door and lock the retainers to fasten the pigtail wire harness behind the door panel. Connect the pigtail wire to the door wire harness, set the door lock switch on the back of the lock cylinder and mount the door outside handle and its internal link inside the door. After that, connect the battery negative cable back to the frame.
