How to Maintain and Repair a Power Steering Hose on 2002 Dodge Dakota?

Before you service or repair the power steering line and hose, you must siphon the power steering system. Raise the vehicle on stands, separate both sides of the return hose at the compressor and at the cooler and lastly, remove the pressure hose out of the vehicle. Perform siphoning again for the pressure hose, support the raised vehicle, remove both ends of the pressure hose from the pump and gear and then remove the hose. Before lowering the vehicle, first attach the return hose to the place on the car, reconnect the hose into the cooler and pump, tightening each nut to 31 Nm (23 ft. lbs.). Before lowering the vehicle, attach the pressure hose to the vehicle and at the pump and gear, tighten the connections to 31 Nm (23 ft. lbs.), then take out the support and fill the power steering system again.
