2002 Dodge Dakota Tie Rod End Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Tie Rod End on 2002 Dodge Dakota?
A: Before servicing the outer tie rod end, you should loosen the jam nut and then take off the outer tie rod nut at the steering knuckle. Get the Remover MB-991113, remove the tie rod ball stud from the knuckle and then unthread the outer tie rod end from the inner tie rod. For installation, first fit one end of the tie rod back into the steering knuckle, then secure the other tail rod to it. Use 81 Nm (60 ft. lbs.) of torque on the ball stud nut and use 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.) on the jam nut at the steering knuckle. Perform a wheel toe matching operation at the last phase.
