2002 Dodge Durango Engine Mount Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service an Engine Mount on 2002 Dodge Durango?
A: The first step in replacing the front engine mount is to unhook the battery's negative cable. Removing the fan blade, the fan clutch and the fan shroud will stop them from being damaged during the procedure. Then, remove the engine oil filter and place a block of wood across the full engine oil pan, kept in place by a jack. Remove the four bolts from the engine block that link to the engine insulator, plus the nut from the insulator mount through bolt. With a 4x4 vehicle, first take out the bolts from the bottom block to the insulator and then loosen the nut holding the engine insulator mount through bolt. Jack up the engine and unbolt and remove the engine insulator mount along with its bolts. Install the insulator mount first, then insert and secure it using a bolt. After that, slowly lower the engine so that the four cylinder block-to-insulator bolts can fit and then remove the jack and support block. Make the torque on the cylinder block-to-insulator mount bolts 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.) and torque the nut on the through bolt to the same level. Put the fan blade, clutch and shroud back in at the end of the process.
