Q: How to Remove and Install Car Speakers on 2002 Dodge Neon?
A: Before you remove the front door speaker, disconnect and remove the battery negative cable and then take out the front door trim panel. After that, remove the screws on the speaker retention area, take out the speaker assembly and cut off the speaker's wire from the rear. Again, unhook the negative cable, remove the cover of the instrument panel, undo the screws holding the speakers and unplug the wire after you take out the speakers. For the rear speakers, unhook the battery negative cable, then pull off the rear seat cushion, remove the rear seat back and shelf panel, unscrew the four speaker mounts, remove the wire's connector and remove the speaker(s). To install, connect the wire connector to the front door speaker, add it to the vehicle, hold it in place with the retaining screws, replace the front door trim panel and connect the battery negative cable once more. Secure the wire harness from the instrument panel to the speaker, then fit it, secure with retaining screws, fit the instrument panel top cover and attach the negative battery cable again. The rear connections are made by hooking up the wire connector to your speaker, fastening it in the car, installing the relevant screws, putting the rear shelf, seat back and rear cushion back in their places and finally returning the battery's negative terminal connection.
