For servicing the rear door hinge, start by first lifting and holding up the door on a suitable tool. If you need to reach the door check strap better, remove the bolts that link it to the lower B-pillar. Note the spot where the hinge connects on both the door frame and lower B-pillar. Afterwards, get rid of the bolts that are securing the door end frame to the hinge and to the lower B-pillar. Also remove the door hinge from the vehicle. At the beginning, if the new door hinge calls for it, give it a fresh coat of paint. Place the new hinge where it will be attached and hip up the bolts to the B-pillar and door end frame. Put the hinge in place, over the marks you prepared and tighten every bolt. If the bolts for the door check strap on the lower B-pillar were taken out before, now is the time to reattach them. After that, check the door's position and the way it closes, tightening the door hinge if needed.
