How to Service and Repair a Transmission Speed Sensor in a 41TE Automatic Transmission on 2002 Dodge Neon?

Before handling the speed sensor in a 41TE automatic transmission, unplug the battery negative terminal. Remove the air cleaner/throttle body assembly and take out the connector from the input speed sensor, next. Remove the input speed sensor after unscrewing it and examine the speed sensor O-ring; if necessary, replace it. Be sure to fit the O-ring first and then mount and tighten the input speed sensor to a torque of 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). Replace the speed sensor connector, attach the air cleaner or throttle body assembly and fasten the battery negative cable at last.
