2002 Dodge Ram 1500 A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace an A/C Hose in an HVAC System for Suction Hose on 2002 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: You will first want to disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable before recovering the refrigerant. Disconnect the wire harness connector from the a/c high pressure transducer and the suction line refrigerant line coupler at the accumulator. Afterward, install plugs or tape over any refrigerant line fittings that have been opened. Now, take out the nut on the condenser inlet and pull the discharge line connection away from the condenser, remembering to cover the open fittings with tape. Remove the assembly where both the suction and discharge plastic tubes are inserted from the vehicle. Take off the tape or plugs from all refrigerant line fittings and attach the suction line refrigerant line coupler to the accumulator. Fit a new gasket and a discharge line block fitting to the condenser inlet with the mounting nut tightened to 180 in. lbs. A compressor cowl should be installed and only the mounting bolt needs to be tightened to 22 Nm (200 in. lbs.). Connect your battery again to the negative cable, release the refrigerant from the system and add the necessary refrigerant into the system.
