2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Throttle Body Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Throttle Body on 2002 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: For service and repairs on the throttle body, take out the air cleaner tube attached to the throttle body and unplug the electrical connectors from the IAC motor and TPS. Afterward, pull all cables connected to the throttle body lever, release both vacuum lines and unbolt the three brackets that hold the throttle body in place. Make sure the throttle body-to-intake manifold o-ring is in good shape and replace it if it is damaged. After cleaning the mating areas of the throttle body and intake manifold, put in a new o-ring before joining them together. Position the throttle body and secure it with all three provided mounting bolts, but no higher than 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) torque. Connect the control cables, electrical sensors and all essential vacuum lines and then secure the air cleaner duct at the throttle body.
