2002 Dodge Ram 2500 Ignition Lock Cylinder Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install an Ignition Lock Cylinder on 2002 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: Be sure that the ignition key is inside the cylinder before trying to pull out the lock. The first step is to take off the negative cable from the battery. Remove the tilt lever by turning the center of the tilt column counterclockwise if your model has one. After that, remove the top and bottom cover from the steering column. When you drive an automatic, be sure to set the shifter in PARK when the vehicle is off. Find the retaining pin on the key cylinder assembly side, rotate the key to run mode and press in on the pin as you pull out the key cylinder from the ignition lock cylinder. Again, turn the key clockwise to the RUN position in its cylinder to set up the installation. Lightly insert the lock cylinder into the housing, so it lines up with the ignition and press it in until it clicks.
