2002 Dodge Ram 2500 Seat Belt Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace a Rear Seat Belt and Retractor on 2002 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: Removal of the rear seat and its trim cover from the door sill lets you access and change the rear seat belt and retractor. After that, unscrew the anchor mount to the quarter inner panel near the base of the C-pillar, unsnap the rear shoulder belt turning loop cover and remove its securing screw located near the top of the C-pillar. Following that, remove the trim from the quarter inner panel and separate the rear seat shoulder belt turning loop and lower seat belt anchor plate from the quarter trim panel. Remove the screw that holds the retractor to the quarter inner panel by the C-pillar and take out both the rear shoulder belt and retractor from inside the panel. For setting up, mount the rear shoulder belt retractor on the quarter inner panel and attach and tighten its screw to 40 Nm (29 ft. lbs.). Attach the rear shoulder belt turning loop and lower seat belt anchor plate to the quarter trim panel and then fasten the trim back onto the quarter inner panel. Place the shoulder belt turning loop onto the quarter inner panel near the top of the C-pillar and attach and tighten the screw holding it in place to 40 Nm (29 ft. lbs.). After folding the cover, snap it over the rear shoulder belt loop and press it down to hide the screw, then place the lower anchor plate near the bottom of the C-pillar's inner quarter panel and screw it in tightly to 40 Nm. After that, slot the trim cover into the door sill and put the rear seat back in the passenger area.
