2002 Dodge Ram 2500 Brake Light Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Brake Light Switch on 2002 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: Remove the knee bolster to be able to access the brake lamp switch and its pedal. First, remove the switch harness and then maintain pressure on the brake pedal until it's held down. With the lock switch pointing down in the bracket, turn it counterclockwise about 30 degrees so it lines up with the notch and while still holding the brake pedal down, pull the switch and slide it rearward, taking it out of the mounting bracket. To install, run the wires from the harness to the new switch and keep the brake pedal pushed down as you hold it. Position the tabs of the switch with the marks on the switch bracket, secure it into place with the switch lever pointing to 45 degrees and rotate it about 30 degrees clockwise. After you step on and then release the brake pedal, align the lever with the hook until it becomes parallel with the connector, making the adjustment. Following these steps, add the knee bolster to your seat.
