How to Maintain Your Front Shock Absorber on 2002 Dodge Ram 2500?

For front shock absorption service, begin by supporting the vehicle off the ground. Open up the disc by unfastening the black plastic upper nut, retainer and grommet. After that, take out the bolt on the suspension arm and get the shock out. When installing, spread out the shock, position the retainer and grommet on the top and inspect both for possible damage. Go up through the upper suspension arm bracket with the shock, put in the top grommet, retainer and nut and tighten the nut to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.). Put the bottom of the shock into the suspension arm and attach the lower mounting bolt by tightening it to 142 Nm (105 ft. lbs.). The last step is to take out the support and lower the vehicle.
