Engage the outside snap ring pliers with the retaining bosses, squeeze tightly while rocking the base and keep squeezing as you pull to remove the base from its mount. After removing the receptacle, take the base away from the quarter trim panel so you can find the wire harness connector and sever its connection from the rear cigarette lighter receptacle. Pull the rear cigarette lighter party from the right quarter trim piece. For mounting, match the splines on the rear cigarette lighter connector outside with the grooves on the mount inner parts and push in the base piece just past halfway into the mount.
