How to Service and Repair a Front Door Latch Assembly on 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Before you service or fix the front door latch, pull out the glass run channel. After that, unscrew the screws holding the door latch to the door and separate all rods from the door latch before you disconnect the wire harness connector. After these parts are taken out, split the door latch off the door. For installing, place the door latch on the door and hook up the connector wire harness. After that, secure all rods to the door latch and fit the screws, tightening them to 11 N.m (8 ft. lbs.) to attach the latch to the door. At last, reattach the glass run channel and check that the latch is working well.
