Never work on the steering column when the
Air Bag is not disarmed or this action might accidentally deploy the air bag and injure you as well. First, direct both front wheels forwards and pull out the negative ground cable from the battery. Remove the air bag and after that take out the steering wheel nut and use Puller C-3894-A to get the wheel out, with the puller jaws placed in the pockets of the steering wheel. Join the steering wheel index spline with the slot on the column and put the steering wheel on the steering shaft, feeding the Clock Spring wire harness through the spokes of the steering wheel. Make sure the steering wheel mounting nut is tightly set to 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.), then attach the wire harness on the steering wheel to the clock spring and reinstall the air bag. In the end, connect the negative ground cable back to the battery.
