2002 Jeep Liberty Coil Springs Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain Coil Springs in the Rear on 2002 Jeep Liberty?
A: First, lift and support the vehicle and then put a hydraulic jack under your axle to support it while changing the coil springs. Take out the lower bolt from the shock absorber and axle bracket, lower the jack and remove the coil spring. Look at the upper and lower spring pliers prior to fitting them. Install the upper isolator first and afterwards install the lower isolator. Gently pull the axle down and slide the coil spring into the lower isolator, so that it is positioned correctly. With the hydrolic jack, raise the axle and attach the shock absorber bracket. Tighten everything together to 115 Nm (85 ft. lbs.). Once you remove the supports, set the vehicle on the ground and tighten each stabilizer bar link to 99 Nm (73 ft. lbs.).
