• Q: How to Service and Repair a Rear Shock Absorber on 2002 Jeep Liberty?

  A: Make sure the rear suspension is off the ground with support under the axle and on no suspension arm ball joints before proceeding. Subsequently, undo the screws and bolts at the top of the frame bracket and next unscrew the bolts from the lower bracket on top of the axle, to remove the shock absorber. Attach the new shock absorber in the frame bracket with the supplied bolt and nut and then put it into the axle bracket and secure with the same bolt and nut. After taking away the supports, carefully lower the vehicle and tighten each upper mounting nut to 108 Nm and each lower mounting nut to 115 Nm.
