How to Service and Repair the Drive Shaft on 2002 Jeep Liberty?

First, put the transmission/transfer case in Neutral and lift up the vehicle so it doesn't touch the ground to support the service and repair of the second propeller shaft. Make a marked guide line across the pinion yoke and propeller shaft for accurate alignment during installation. Remove the U-joint strap bolts from the pinion shaft yoke and, if set up with one, pry the boot clamp on the propeller shaft yoke. Take the slip yoke away from the transmission/transfer case output shaft so that you can remove the propeller shaft. When installing, set the propeller shaft with its reference marks even with the yoke on the transmission/transfer case output shaft. Put on the U-joint straps and fix them with bolts tightened to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.) torque. When using Clamp C-4975A, clamp the dust boot. After that, get rid of the support and carefully bring the vehicle down.
