  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Dimmer Switch on 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
    A: Begin by opening the hood and disconnecting the negative cable from the battery to work on the turn signal switch. Take out both steering column shrouds and separate the posi-lock harness connections at the rear of the multi-function switch. Unscrew the screws that hold the multi-function switch in position and take the switch from your vehicle. When installing a new multi-function switch, transfer the combination flasher and the wiper/washer switch by holding the wiper/washer switch in place with two torx screws on the new switch. Place the new switch where it should go and hold it secure by driving the mounting screws into place, making sure to tighten the multi-function switch to column retaining screws to 3 Nm (27 in. lbs.). Connect the posi-lock harness connectors at the rear of the multi-function switch, bolt back the upper and lower shrouds and secure the negative end of the battery cable. Close the hood and test out the vehicle and all the systems.
