  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Dimmer Switch on 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
    A: The combination switch can be services and repaired by opening the hood and disconnecting the negative cable of the battery. Disconnect posi-lock harness connectors on the rear of the multi-function switch then remove both upper and lower steering column shrouds. Disconnect mounting screws and remove switch out of the vehicle. In case of exchanging the multi-function switch then, the combination flasher and windshield wiper/washer switch should be taken over on the new multiple switch by loosening the two star screws that hold the wiper/washer switch and put them on the new switch. Instal the replacement switch and fasten it by using the mounting screws, and remember to torque the multi-function switch to column retaining screws to 3 Nm (27 in. lbs.). Connection posit-lock harness connectors on the back of the multi-function switch, reapply upper and lower steering column shroud and re-connect the negative battery cable. Last, make sure to close the hood and check that the vehicle and the systems work.
