Being sure to disable the SRS, unhook the battery negative cable from its terminal and let the system capacitor discharge for two minutes before starting your repairs on the left multifunction switch. Take off both upper and lower shroud pieces of the steering column in the first step. After that, remove the connector that links the wiring harness of the instrument panel to the back of the left multi-function switch. Unscrew the screw that holds the left multi-function switch to the mounting bracket on the left of the
Clock Spring. Pull the lever away from the Clock Spring to release the slide tabs from their place in the mounting bracket. You then need to unclip the jumper wire harness from the inboard end of the left multi-function switch and remove the switch out of the Clock Spring.
