- Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Door Handle Actuator on 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser?A: Opening up the door to access the exhibit actuator for servicing or repairing, remove the door trim first, trying not to use a drill on the heat stakes. Take out the two screws and pry the door handle loose with a razor knife or its alternative. Following this, remove the bezel for the front door inside remote handle/power door lock switch. After removing all excess heat staking, the installation process will be smooth. Attach the inner door handle with three screws and fasten them by hand. If you notice it needs replacement, replace the upper heat stake with the Heat Staking Procedure. In the end, attach the remote handle/power door lock switch bezel and the door trim panel.
