How to Remove and Install a Shift Knob on 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

Slowly pull up on the knob with just enough pressure to remove it from the gearstick assembly. Set the gearshift pattern over the top of the gearstick and position the hole onto the mechanism; then strike the knob with a rubber mallet to lock it in place. After that, make sure the shift pattern is set up correctly.
