How to Replace a Front Wiper Arm on 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

Before replacing the front wiper arms, set the wiper arm/blades to PARK, turn the ignition OFF, open the hood and then proceed. To remove the wiper arm nut cap, either use a trim stick (special tool #C-4755) or another similar tool. After that, open the wiper arm retaining nut and pull the arm out of the pivot by rocking it while the wiper is adjusted to over/center. Remove any metal particles you see on the pivot shafts by wiping them with a paper towel or cloth. Activate the wipers to see that the module is in the PARK setting before you install anything. Put the ends of the wiper arms where the driver's and passenger's blades meet the center mark on the windshield. Guide the arm into an over/centered position then fit the wiper arm retaining nut and secure it to at least 21 Nm (190 in. lbs.). Afterwards, attach the wiper arm nut cap, shut the hood and test that the system is working properly.
