2003 Chrysler Voyager Brake Drum Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Brake Drum on 2003 Chrysler Voyager?
A: Before servicing or repairing the brake drum, lift the vehicle and remove the tire and wheel assembly. Then, take the rear brake shoe adjusting hole cover plug out. With one thin screwdriver, hold the adjusting lever out of the notches in the adjusting screw star wheel, then use another screwdriver to fit into the notches of the brake adjusting screw star wheel and lower the brake by pushing down with the adjusting tool. Unscrew the brake shaft nut and lift the drum out of the rear hub/bearing and if you have to, mount the M8 X 1.25 MM bolts into the removal holes in the drum to push it off the hub. During installation, align the brake shoe assemblies to ensure they do not interfere with your brake drum; then, put the brake drums on the hubs and set the drum shoes as required. Reattach the wheel and tire assembly and tighten down the wheel stud nuts in the correct order to give half of the possible torque. Afterward, repeat the process until the full specified value of 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.) is reached. Lower the vehicle so that it is sitting right on the ground.
