2003 Chrysler Voyager Speed Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Transmission Speed Sensor on 2003 Chrysler Voyager?
A: You should start by lifting the vehicle, then take off the speed sensor connector. Make sure there isn't any dirt near the speed sensor so it doesn't get into the transaxle as you take it out. After that, undo the speed sensor retaining bolt and gently remove the sensor from the transaxle, verifying that the sensor drive gear does not drop into the transaxle and needs to be attached to the sensor if it does. Get rid of the speed sensor drive gear from the speed sensor. During installation, put the pinion gear onto the speed sensor, place a new O-ring around the speed sensor and fit it into the transaxle. Attach the bolt to the main bolt hole, squeezing the nut on it to 7 Nm (60 inch lbs.). Now, connect the speed sensor back to its connector. Now, bring the vehicle back to street level and run a test drive to ensure the speedometer functions correctly.
