2003 Dodge Caravan Blend Door Actuator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Blend Door Actuator on 2003 Dodge Caravan?
A: For safest results, disconnect and isolate the battery when repairing the air door actuator/motor. Then let the air bag system discharge by waiting for two minutes. The first step is to take out the silencer from the driver side end of the instrument panel. Hold the connector wire harness so it doesn't move while removing it from the mode door actuator. After that, use the flathead and Phillips screwdrivers to undo the two screws keeping the actuator in place and take it out. When setting up, fix the mode door actuator on the heater/AC housing so the splines on its output shaft are lined up with the mode door linkage. Before you reconnect the HVAC wire harness connector, first tighten both screws on the actuator until they have 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.) torque then move on. Fit the silencer under the driver side end of your instrument panel, reattach the battery negative cable and carry out a heater-A/C control calibration.
