2003 Dodge Dakota Ignition Lock Cylinder Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install an Ignition Lock Cylinder on 2003 Dodge Dakota?
A: Before taking out the ignition lock cylinder, the key must be in the key cylinder. Unhook the black battery cable first, then take off the upper and lower steering cover. Let the vehicle gearbox be in the PARK position. Look for an edge retaining pin on the key cylinder, turn the key to RUN and press down as you remove the key cylinder from the ignition with the retaining pin. While installing, place the key into the ignition switch, slip the cylinder end under the switch and continue to push until the cylinder clicks into place. Next, replace the set of upper and lower shrouds and connect the battery as before.
