2003 Dodge Dakota Throttle Position Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install a Throttle Position Sensor on the Throttle Body on 2003 Dodge Dakota?
A: The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) is fitted on the side of the throttle body. First, remove the air duct attached to the throttle body and next, unplug the TPS electrical connector. After that, undo the two mounting bolts on the throttle position sensor and take it away from the throttle body. During installation, rotate the throttle body's shaft in the TPS to be sure it has some rotation in the socket; if the rotation is absent, rotate the sensor with its shaft pointing to the opposite side of its tangs. Set the TPS into place with the two bolts and fasten them to 7 N.m (60 in.lbs.) of torque. After putting all parts in place, check for any obstruction in the TPS by operating the throttle lever, secure the TPS connector cable to the board and finally fix the air duct that was removed from the throttle body.
