How to Service and Install an Axle Shaft Seal on an 8 1/4 Inch Rear Axle on 2003 Dodge Durango?

Raise the vehicle and prop it up before removing the rear axle shaft for the 8 1/4 Inch rear axle seals. To remove the axle seal from the tube, use a pry bar and just a little pressure. Remove old sealer and any burrs from the axle tube bore. Install the seal with Installer C-4076-B and Handle C-4735-1 and be sure to guide the tool so the seal is inserted to the correct level. After you remove the axle shaft, cover the seal's lip with axle lubricant to protect it. After you have attached the axle shaft, make sure to put in and fill the gear lubricant and after that, place the wheel and tire assembly. After that, remove the support and lower the vehicle to the ground.
